VT restaurants can't open doors due to labor shortage - WPTZ

Owners of Vermont restaurants says it's excruciating to not be able to be open when they want to be open, but they have no choice - they can't find enough workers. What's the solution - automation? Higher pay? All the food you can eat and take home? Or just shrug and say it's a good problem for an economy to have?

"According to July data from the Vermont Department of Labor, the state's unemployment rate is 2.1 percent, while the national rate is 3.7 percent. With unemployment in Vermont much lower than the national average, the demand for workers is outpacing the number of people available to fill the open positions."

I’m free to not work, but the country doesn’t have to make it easier for me.

can get on the government dole, free money.
