In 2018, Rutland was the most dangerous city in the second safest state in the union.

"Maine landed at the bottom of the list, at 112.1 per 100,000 people, while Vermont followed closely behind at 172 per 100,000. The Green Mountain State reportedly had the lowest robbery rate that year, as well as the lowest number of total reported murders (10). Rutland was considered the most dangerous city in Vermont. Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island also landed among the 10 states with the lowest violent crime rates.

    1. Maine, #2 Vermont, and #3 New Hampshire. It’s just some kid of enigmatic coincidence that the states with the least restrictive gun regulations are the safest year after year ? Every time someone states that we need more gun regulations like New York, California or Massachusetts I can’t help but think about those that think we should be more like the Europeans. I generally reply, "you mean the folks that brought us WWI and WWII ? Ayya !

    Don’t know where they got these numbers but I can’t believe Connecticut had a low crime rate in a national ranking.
