Vermont officials to Vermonters at holidays: hunker down, don’t travel - Fox 44

White House Covid-19 advisor Deborah Birx told Vermont health officials that the dramatic rise in Covid cases in rural states is due in part to residents traveling out-of-state to more highly-infected areas and then bringing it back. Perhaps with this in mind, Vermonters are being advised to stay home for the holidays, and don’t invite Aunt Lucy from New York, either.

"Deputy Health Commissioner Tracy Dolan told VPR’s Vermont Edition on Tuesday that people should consider carefully any upcoming travel. “And as we move into the holidays this might be a time to hunker down and have some smaller family events, and really think twice about either visitors coming in, or going out-of-state,” she said."
