UVM plans to re-start a legislative intern program for Vermont legislators, who ‘suffer’ from a lack of staff support - only 100 staffers for 180 legislators, with the Speaker of the House and the Senate Pro Tem having their own, dedicated assistants. (Each committee has an admin as well.) The original plan folded in 2013 due to lack of funding.
