The fire began when one of the occupants of a King Street apartment fell asleep after lighting up a smoke.

"Burlington Police identified the victims as 55-year-old Henry Burawa and 31-year-old Michael Loyer, residents of separate units at the King Street apartment. The fire at 199 King St. was accidental, according to the fire department."
