Amtrak Rutland to Burlington line could begin by 2021 - Associated Press

The Ethan Allen Express connecting Burlington and Rutland could begin as soon as 2021, following renovations to the railroad line budgeted this year. At present service runs from New York to Rutland.

"Officials say the train ride from Burlington to New York will take about eight hours. Vermont officials are also hoping to extend the state’s other Amtrak train, The Vermonter, to Montreal."
