"Brattleboro Police Officer Chad Emery has resigned from his employment with the Town of Brattleboro, the town manager said. Emery, who had been on administrative leave after being charged June 22 with two counts of domestic assault and one count of aggravated disorderly conduct, resigned on Friday, according to town manager Peter B. Elwell. According to an affidavit filed by Vermont State Police, police were called to a Guilford home on Friday, June 19, and spoke to a woman who said she had been physically assaulted by Emery, 43, a longtime officer with the Brattleboro Police."
