An effort to get Vermont’s homeless population out of motels and into “community based housing” has been delayed by the pandemic. The program, aimed at not only giving shelter but addressing the root causes of homelessness, will go forward July 1 2021.
"The shift from motel vouchers to community-based housing programs was originally scheduled to take place July 1. But because of the pandemic — which hit Vermont in March — the state instead expanded the eligibility for motel vouchers."
