Squirrels hide more than 200 lbs. of nuts under PA car hood – WCAX

This story on the WCAX website didn’t happen in VT, but it could have. A Pennsylvania couple noticed a weird sound and smell coming from underneath the hood of their car. They popped the hood and discovered a huge cache of squirrel food. That’s nuts! New verse for the old holiday jingle: “Walnuts roasting on the engine block….”

"They were everywhere, under the battery, near the radiator fan,” Chris Persic told CNN. “The walnuts on the engine block were black and smelt like they were definitely roasting.”
