Howard Dean and Jim Douglas are skeptical about Bernie getting the nod for Secretary of Labor. But meanwhile the pundits are making a list, checking it twice, for whom being ‘senator’ would sure sound nice. Al Gobeille? Peter Clavelle? Mary Powell?
"I don't want to [rain] on Bernie's parade, because I think he deserves it," said former governor Howard Dean, a Democrat. "I just think it's very unlikely." Dean's Republican successor, Jim Douglas, sounded equally skeptical. "Do you think Bernie would be good at following someone else's orders and policies?" the former governor asked. "It's interesting speculation. I don't know that it's realistic or not.""
