Senate passes 2021 budget similar to House version - VT Digger

The $7.15 billion budget approved by the Senate yesterday adds money for essential workers and funding for schools to cover pandemic expenses.

"Lawmakers and Gov. Phil Scott were able to avoid making big cuts this year, in large part because of a tax surplus in July. They have also been able to benefit from the $1.25 billion the state received in coronavirus relief fund dollars from the federal government earlier this year."
