Vermont State Police have issued four photos of a silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that was seen in the vicinity of the fatal shooting of a truck driver in Bartonsville.
"Vermont State Police spokesman Adam Silverman said the driver and potential passenger in the truck, which had an extended cab and a tonneau covering in the back, may have been a witness in the shooting of Fonseca-Rivera. Police said the truck was "passing through the area ... near the time of the shooting." "The occupants may be witnesses to the incident and police would like to speak to them," the release said. The photographs show a light-colored license plate and it appears there is a passenger in the cab of the truck, as it heads south to Bellows Falls.
Fonseca-Rivera's delivery truck was parked by the side of Route 103 in Bartonsville, which is a village in the town of Rockingham, halfway between Bellows Falls and Chester. Police would only say that the silver pickup truck "was passing through the area" of the victim's truck "near the time of the shooting." Fonseca-Rivera was shot in the head and neck, police said, and his death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy. Two bullet holes were clearly visible in the windshield of the produce truck he was driving."
