Secretary of State applauds primary turnout, smooth election process - VT Biz

Secretary of State Jim Condos says Vermont avoided the primary election horror stories from other states. It all went smoothly, no-one’s health was at risk, the votes were counted on time, and the turnout was about 33% higher than the former record. But can the State of Vermont still make it work when it mails EVERY voter a ballot for the general election? And if the requested-ballot system worked so well in the primary, why not just do it again for the general election? Isn’t that a good example of “best practices?”

“Of course, there is still work ahead of us and we can always improve. As we plan for the November General Election, we will consult with the Clerks and use direct feedback from Vermonters to analyze best practices, lessons learned, and next steps.”
