Scott, other guvs want New England power grid reform - VT Business Magazine

New England’s governors want ISO-New England, operators of New England’s electricity transmission system, to make changes in the power grid that reduce carbon emissions. Details expected next week - but don’t be surprised if an exception of the “lowest cost power buy” is made for big wind and solar projects.

“I’ve long said our work to address climate change can and must also work to make energy more affordable for Vermonters, so I’m pleased to be a part of this regional approach to achieving both of these priorities,” said Governor Scott. “With a strategic, multi-state approach we can have a greater impact on both climate change mitigation and energy affordability.”

With the shrinking cost of solar, that seems like a more likely investment than carbon pricing. Particularly when paired with natural gas plants in Southern New England that can quickly ramp up/down with demand.

Nature’s circle of life includes carbon dioxide. Trees are dying being starved of life giving CO2. If they can’t “breath” how can they produce oxygen that we need to breath? Nuclear “waste” byproduct is boiling water, trillions of gallons that heat our environment but yet they’re deemed OK. Creating a misguided green grid will depopulate America by rationing power. Only the wealthy will be able to afford the electricity costs required for an MRI for instance. Only the wealthy will live comfortably with heat and air conditioning. Only the wealthy will drive an electric car while the rest take a bus. We will create a society of haves and have nots. Inequality given to us by an unelected commission that heats and conditions their 4000 sq foot homes while they drive their Tesla to the hospital for their life saving MRI procedures.
