Scott first GOP guv to back impeachment inquiry - VT Digger

In a news story that instantly made Phil Scott known to news readers and watchers around the country, Gov. Phil Scott of Vermont today said it would be "appropriate" to begin the impeachment inquiry of Pres. Donald Trump. He is the first Republican governor, senator or congressman to come out in support of the inquiry. Vermont - first in the nation, again!

"Scott said at his weekly press conference Thursday that the allegations against Trump are “serious” and he supports efforts to determine what happened through an impeachment inquiry. “I believe we need to figure out what exactly did happen, establish the facts, and let the facts drive us from there to where we go,” Scott said."

Scott is dependent upon the senior senators especially Leahy in DC. Scott is a rope advocate instead of a ladder proponent. Our state is financially indebt to the grants from the federal government. Without them the state would collapse. As long as the democrats are holding the rope (in power) they will lift up Vermonters but that is contingent upon your vote to keep them in power. If Leahy is gone, the rope will be lowered and Vermont will have to start from the bottom again. Trump is holding a ladder for Vermonters. He is making it easier to prosper by cutting taxes, cutting regulations, reaffirming family values, weeding out corruption and waste, and bringing back US sovereignty. Now it is up to us in Vermont to start climbing the ladder that Trump has laid out for us. Climb as high as your God given talent and desire will take you and when he is no longer there, you can stay at the rung of the ladder that you have achieved. We need to choose wisely. The rope(D)(P) or the ladder®

Phil Scott is as irrelevant as he is delusional, anyone who thinks making Vermont more affordable is a goal that can be accomplished by more programs, committees, commissions and subsidies doesn’t understand this is how we got here in the first place.

Every time we engage in one of these practices the cost of living goes up and we forfeit more Freedom.

We must at some point recognize the fact that if we continue to violate the principles of our free market system and over regulate commerce things can only get worse.

But if you think its bad now, wait until Act 250 is married to the Climate economy next year. This will be paid for by incentive to develop in our villages and cities. Municipalities will become so excited to get their grants for economic development they will gladly shut down development in rural areas and not worry that average Vermonters will no longer be able to build there.

President Trump understands this concept of Freedom and what makes our country work, what does Phil Scott understand?

There is no question that Phil Scott is a turncoat.. he has demonstrated to everyone that fought hard to elect him that he is a deceitful person.

President Trump has done more for America in 3 years than any other president in history yet our turncoat Governor decides that it is time to impeach him.

Phil I don’t know about you but when I look around and I see the economy booming and I see a man that wants to protect our borders and reduce taxes on people I see the exact opposite of you and maybe that is why you want to impeach Donald Trump because he makes you look like the fool that you are.

You have sold out the true vermonters Phil you should hang your head in shame.

Great comments, Malcolm, Mike, Alan, Pat and C Henry. I don’t know one way or the other about Scott’s aspirations to Washington. Alan, I get what you are saying about discouragement of conservatives. But I think the work that you and Malcolm and others are doing to reach and inform others is the necessary “spade work” to building more informed conservative opinion in Vermont. Keep up the great work and comments everyone!

Now he is in the national spotlight. Ten to one says he has aspirations’ to be part of the ”swamp” in Washington.

The previously posted comments perfectly nail our dilemma – no conservative representation. So, we must figure out how to rouse the conservative Vermonters (who, I suspect, are rightly disillusioned to the point of inaction). If we continue en masse to forsake our activism and our vote than all is lost for generations to come.

Whatever happened to the Republican Party in Vermont ? I guess that in Vermont it’s the same as Washington, you bend with the wind. It’s sad that the GOP has become the “Less Than GOP, or maybe the Not So GOP” in Vermont. Justice Marilyn Scogland’s comment to a reporter upon her announcement of her retirement spoke volumes as to this point. When asked if she would (should?) wait to retire until there was a Democratic Governor, Justice Scogland stated basically, why? there are no real Conservative Republicans left in Vermont and that she was comfortable that Governor Scott would appoint someone that would support that conclusion. There used to be issues that were “planks” in each party’s platform that could be counted on. Sad, but in my opinion, if there is one thing in politics that you can count on, it’s that you can’t count on anything anymore.

I wouldn’t expect anything else from Rino Scott, he will always
follow the lead from Vermont’s ’ Three Stooges " in DC ……

He surely can’t stand on his own two feet, he just another back eye
    for Vermont ……. pretty shameful.
