Out of “an abundance of caution,” about the coronavirus, schools in two widely separated parts of Vermont have closed today.
"In a letter sent to parents Monday morning, the superintendent of the Champlain Valley school district said a staff member returned to Vermont, after staying at an out-of-state hotel last month.
Since then, there have been multiple confirmed COVID-19 cases with guests who stayed at the same time, the superintendent said. The school said the staff member has decided to self-quarantine at home because they have cold-like symptoms. The staff member does not have a confirmed case of the coronavirus, the school said."
