Police seek perp who defaced anti-police brutality street art - Seven Days

The police are on the lookout for the man who allegedly scribbled nonsensical graffiti and also tried to cover up the V in the Black Lives Matter street mural in front of the State House.

"Montpelier police said they were seeking the suspect, described as a white man who was captured in the act on camera. Gov. Phil Scott issued a statement denouncing the defacement as an "effort to fuel hate and division." "This act of vandalism only reinforces that we’re not immune to racism, divisiveness and hate in Vermont," Scott said in a written statement. "We must redouble our efforts to dismantle systemic racism and bigotry, and stay united as Vermonters."
