Police respond to two Burlington shootings - WCAX

The shootings were unrelated - a domestic dispute that left a woman shot in the chest, and a man who accidently shot himself in the leg. The domestic shooter was arrested, and (as yet) no one has died from either shooting.

"Police say Joshua Brissette, 35, turned himself in Monday night and is now in custody after shooting a woman in the chest Monday evening around 6:20 p.m. They say Brissette he stole his roommate's car and drove it to North Union Street where he fired at the victim and another man. The victim was taken to the UVM Medical Center and is conscious and alert according to police. In the second incident, police say a man accidentally shot himself in the leg. They say an officer administered immediate first aid and likely saved the man's life.”
