Congratulations to Phil Scott for letting the president know that refugees are welcome here. They enhance our communities by adding cultural diversity to our far-too-white Anglo state. What they need in ESL support (likely less than many longer term residents’ families’ needs for special ed.) they give back in cultural richness and their drive to be independent as soon as possible.

For all of the damage US foreign policy & our national carbon footprint does abroad, the very least we can do is to welcome the refugees who have suffered from what are often US tax dollar-supported programs.

Gov. Scott is woefully misinformed. I would like to know what the ESL (English as a second language) costs are for Winooski and Burlington alone.
