One of the three members of the five-member Brattleboro selectboard who voted against the proposed 'climate emergency' declaration called it "war-mongering" and an "anti-government screed." Another said if the town were to declare an emergency, it would be against opioids "because people are dying every day in front of us." Another just called it "a mess." Supporters say they will work to overturn the 'no' vote and will mention it at Friday's Climate Strike.
