Call me jaded, or cynical, but I just do not trust the folks usually under the “Golden Dome” to conduct business in close proximity to mute, on/off , buttons, and covert telephones, and computers. Not that they may take advantage of a situation like that. Law making should be open and as incorruptible as humanly possible. The process they are employing now is anything but. Law making may be compared to “the making of sausage”, but sometimes having “a weak stomach” is just your mind telling you something needs your attention.
