Leahy calls rush to nominate Barrett “wrong and base” - Seven Days

Senate Republicans’ push to approve SCOTUS nominee Amy C. Barrett could cause “irreparable harm” to the judiciary, Sen. Patrick Leahy said in a parting shot to his colleagues acros the aisle. Fair warning or sour grapes?

"I always thought of the Senate as being the conscience of the nation," he later said. "We're in violation of the conscience. I see this for what it is. The American people, I hope, will, too."
