Buried in a story about a poll showing Vermonters’ growing support for legal cannabis is an influential legislator’s admission that the Vermont Legislature goofed when it approved legal possession of marijuana two years ago. The “problem” is that it didn’t regulate it enough.

"“There’s just a general interest of protecting Vermonters,” Gannon said. “I think that perhaps we made a mistake when we legalized cannabis a couple of years ago without providing any form of regulation, and I think people realized that."
