Incumbent NEK senator’s re-election in doubt - VT Digger

Sen. John Rodgers (Essex-Orleans) missed the primary election filing deadline, so he’s running as an independent. Will his name recognition overcome the lack of party support?

"The Senate district consists of about 40 communities across Essex, Orleans, Franklin and Lamoille counties. Rodgers, 55, serves alongside partymate Sen. Bobby Starr, the longtime Troy legislator seeking reelection, and many believe Starr has a lock on his seat. The two incumbents face challenges from Democrat Ron Horton of Jay, Republican Russ Ingalls of Newport and Republican Jonathan Morin of Holland."

    That would be too bad. Senator Rodgers is in my opinion a steady, well reasoned voice, and a native Vermonter, all qualifications that are to rare under the “Golden Dome.”
