Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, the main hospital for Windham County, lost phone and internet service Thursday for most of the day. While a hospital spokesperson said patient care was not interrupted as staff worked from paper instead of screens, a specialist called the service “seriously disrupting.”
"Basically it's a switch, as it relates to our computer and internet, that is faulty," she said. On Facebook, the hospital said it would continue to provide updates. It posted landline phone numbers for people to reach different practices and areas of the hospitals. "Those phones allow incoming and outgoing calls," Pattison said.
The hospital also reached out to Vermont Emergency Management and other groups with alert systems to spread the word.
