Governor orders two-week delay in public school opening - Seven Days

Best by an unwilling workforce and a Sisyphusian struggle to implement new Covid-19 guidelines, the Scott administration has ordered that schools reopen September 8, rather than August 26.

"The start date after Labor Day will give districts more time to implement and test new protocols, and would give anxious families and teachers the confidence that in-person education was safe, he said."
