Donovan to Supreme Court: uphold gun magazine ban – Vermont Business Magazine

Vermont Attorney General TJ Donovan and his office have asked the Vermont Supreme Court to uphold the Vermont Legislature’s ban on gun magazines for semi-automatics.

“Criminal defendant Max Misch was charged under the law after the Vermont State Police received a report from a concerned citizen that Mr. Misch was stockpiling weapons and ammunition and had illegally imported two banned magazines into the state. In a decision released last June, Superior Court Judge William Cohen rejected Mr. Misch’s constitutional challenge to the magazine ban and declined to dismiss the case. The Vermont Supreme Court is now reviewing that decision."

    Other than the fact that a magazine ban will only effect law abiding citizens, and will do nothing to deter someone bent on committing a mass homicide… Ya know I really can’t think of any positives coming from this law, so I believe I’ll let my opening statement stand on it’s own.
