Vermont banned billboards 50 years ago. Do trucks running the roads specifically for the purpose of advertising violate that law? Christine Hallquist and others on Twitter think so.
""If Vermont bans billboards, why are mobile billboards allowed?" tweeted a person identified as Liam Griffin. "Close this loophole #vtpoli, they're an eyesore & with goals of reducing our carbon footprint they just don't make sense for #VT." Hallquist told the Free Press that Burlington should pass an ordinance banning the billboards, and though it may be less of a concern in parts of the state where advertising is less profitable, Vermont also should consider banning the ads statewide."
