The generous and prosperous bi-state Upper Valley community has pitched in to support its award-winning daily newspaper, the Valley News, which has been forced to lay off three newsroom staff due to Covid-19 related advertising losses.
"The Valley News, which covers a number of communities in New Hampshire and Vermont's Upper Valley, has been forced to lay off five full time and three part-time employees to counter financial strain caused by the coronavirus pandemic. "[Advertising] is down 'cause people are closed but some people are still advertising. We have members of the public taking out ads supporting us," publisher Dan McClory said."
