City of Montpelier urged to defund police- Times Argus

It’s simply not enough to paint Black Lives Matter on State Street, the Montpelier City Council was told. If it is really serious about systemic racism, it will kick police out of schools. Hmmm….wonder what Montpelier’s one-week-on-the-job African-American police thinks about this?

“policing has its roots in white supremacy and racism.” ???? Wow ! yet another example of how our Capital city earned the name Mount Peculiar . I’ll bet Chief Facos can’t wait to get out of town before the fan is soiled in this loony little cesspool of liberalism. If there is a far left idea that has been proposed, that has not been championed here, no matter how wacky it may be, I have not heard it yet. This loony little town never ceases to amaze me with it’s indifference to what Vermonters are about. Is there any way to load Montpelier up onto flatbed trucks and bring it to Chittenden County ?

Just when you think Vermont can’t get any weirder…I think Ms. Wesley could benefit from a history lesson and learn about the role Vermont played in abolishing slavery. At any rate, the belief that anyone could benefit from getting rid of the police is pure foolishness.
