Burlington eyes former Macy’s downtown as temporary high school - VT Digger

From the “Ignored News Stories of 2020 File”: the biggest high school in the state is shuttered because the State of Vermont’s air quality standards are a bit higher than the feds’. Now Burlington school officials are considering retrofitting a downtown department store as a temporary home for Burlington High School. Advanced Placement on Aisle 9!

"The other option on the table is to construct trailers on the high school’s surrounding fields, which Flanagan said would be more costly and take longer to construct. “The big difference between Macy’s and trailers is that the trailers will be more expensive, more complicated and further down the line,” Flanagan said. “Macy’s is a simpler and less expensive option.”"
