The Burlington City Council voted Monday night to allow voters next year to decide whether non-citizens should be allowed to vote in municipal elections.

"Roof’s resolution pushes the City Council to encourage all community members to actively participate in Burlington’s democracy. He states all citizens' votes should matter since all citizens live here and pay taxes. His resolution also argues that denying suffrage to noncitizens goes against the city of Burlington's values. He says the resolution aligns with the primary goal of the Diversity and Equity Strategic Plan, which the council unanimously supported in 2014..”

Illegals voting legally, hum……. Let me see if I understand this. An illegal aliens should be able to waltz into a polling place, and vote in an election. I have to register for it, and be recognized as a voter from that town and ward, and then be checked off on a fully vetted voters check list. So I guess their identity will be as fully vetted as a citizens so as to make sure that they are who they say they are ? To exercise my 2nd Amendment rights I need to show I.D. to prove who I am, and go through a NICS background check. Should an illegal also be able to buy firearms without going through a through NICS background check to confirm that they are not felons or mental defectives, or should they just be able to vote on initiatives that infringe on that right and others?

What a crock, if you really want to vote in " Our " elections than you
need to be a Citizen !!

So why don’t these left-leaning City Councilors in Burlington try this
is any other country……. Yeah, that’s what I thought.

All these councilors are looking for is a Vote on their pet projects, so
you should need to be a US Citizen, that means you have taken the oath and you then have the right to vote…….

Most Liberal projects cannot stand on there own, they need to force the
homeowners to be pigeon hold by getting them passed by using any
and all means ………." Non Citizens voting ……… shameful !!

Citizenship does have privileges, voting is one so don’t let " Non’s "
    taint the process……. !!
