Burlington City Council gives BLM protesters tepid support - Seven Days

What the protesters wanted were the professional heads of three Burlington police officers and their own immunity from prosecution for the occupation of Battery Park. What they got was a promise of support for their goals and a path forward to more police department oversight.

"The council's special meeting Tuesday was called to address rising tensions between city officials and protesters, who have vowed to camp out at Battery Park until the city removes Sgt. Jason Bellavance and officers Cory Campbell and Joseph Corrow from the force."
