Bridget Osgood, 45, died from a "cervical fracture due to blunt impact of head," according to a copy of her death certificate provided by the state Department of Health on Thursday. She died instantly, or within seconds, the document stated.
Her manner of death — the circumstances that resulted in her death — was "pending investigation."
Osgood's body was found in the Roaring Branch off Caroline Drive by a neighborhood resident walking his dog shortly before noon on Oct. 13.
