After 17 years, UVM hockey coach to retire – Burlington Free Press

The coach of Vermont’s most popular sports team will retire at the end of the season.

"Sneddon is in the final year of his contract with the school, earning a base salary of $289,000 plus incentives, according to UVM. His Catamounts are in the middle of their third straight losing season, 3-18-4 overall and 0-13-2 in Hockey East play with nine regular-season games remaining. The 49-year-old said he hoped his announcement would end speculation about his status with the program going forward and allow Vermont athletic director Jeff Schulman to begin the process of finding a replacement as soon as possible.
