Afghanistan war hero and Vermont historian honored posthumously – Newport Dispatch

Northeast Kingdom and Vermont historian and U.S. Army war hero Lt. Col. Marc Biron was honored posthumously by the Vermont Historical Society last month.

"In 2007, Biron served in Afghanistan but still remained president of the [Island Pond Historical} society. While in Afghanistan, Biron thwarted a nighttime Taliban raid on his remote mountaintop compound and was able to rouse the other U.S soldiers."
