ACLU wants laws to cut Vermont prison population in half – WCAX

The Vermont ACLU released a report Tuesday calling for legislation to reduce the Vermont prison population by one-half. It highlighted the racial disparity of the prison population: eight percent African-American in a state with a one-percent African-American population. However, the ACLU also said the cause of the disparity is as yet unknown. Seems like a good question to answer before the Legislature legalizes prostitution and all drug possession.

"Specifically, Schilling said lawmakers should decriminalize sex work, as well as possession of all illicit drugs..”
